Absofriggenlutely, TTYD was as near perfection as Paper Mario could be. I agree with everything you said, since I haven't played SPM or SS I simply speak from what I've gathered from friends and the internet but I still emulate PM and TTYD frequently. I just wish Shadow Queen was more integral or at the very least they explore Evil Peach and Luigi again.

One of my fondest memories of gaming was getting lost in the desert of Paper Mario, although I recognize how finite it is now, back then it was like GTA V to me lol.

SPM wasn't too bad, but there was too much...empty space. Not literally empty, but so devoid of anything going on that it felt that way. There's literally a part where a level gets sucked into a black hole and you walk on a straight line of empty space where the level used to be, and that part had a bigger impact on me than some sections of the game. Imagine if you took the grinding of certain RPGs and tried to emulate that in a platformer. You'd have Super Paper Mario. The levels mostly feel like grindy obstacles to get to the next sliver of story. But the story is decent, and touching at the end. The gameplay wasn't the worst, it just felt really, really diluted, like they had to stretch out the game to hide what little content was there.

Sticker Star on the other hand...ugh...like I said before, not really an RPG. The gameplay in Super Paper Mario felt more RPG-like than Sticker Star, it was that simple. The only sidequest was to collect all the stickers into a museum. When I said the story was so simple that some Mario platformers were better, I meant it literally, without the slightest bit of hyperbole. I could summarize the story in a few sentences. The Sticker Star comes down, Bowser breaks it apart, you go across the land fighting Kamek and Bowser Jr. now and then, and fight random nameless bosses with no backstory. Getting to the bosses involves little to no story. Once you have all the "Royal Stickers" from the nameless bosses, you fight Bowser Jr. on his battleship, then go to Bowser's Castle, which is literally two rooms, one where you kill Kamek, the other where you fight Bowser, who has no lines of dialogue. That's right, absolutely zero lines. You free Peach and the credits roll. The end. Waste of my fucking time.
