Opinion Thread: Overrated RPGs?

While I'm happy that nobody is getting at Persona 4 Golden, I am shocked by this hatred for Final Fantasy X

It's simply the best game ever made! Moving story, fantastic battle system, fantastic post-game (especially now), fantastic levelling system and most of all, the incredible soundtrack!

I've just finished my 105 hour platinum, having already spent ~200 hours on the game on PS2, then PS3 via emulator.


While I can understand the Kingdom Hearts criticism, I love it, but I can definitely accept that it may not be to many peoples' tastes


The one that I find massively over-rated is Skyrim.
It looks good (slightly better on PC with mods, but not mindblowing or anything), but all that is broken if you ever see anything move. But that's not my main issue, it's just no fun. The combat is just terrible and the exploration isn't all that either. Woo, I've found slightly better equipment, but I know I'm going to replace it in about 10 minutes.
I did slightly break it by getting really good at crafting and alchemy to make the best set of armour in the game fairly early on. But I know I wouldn't have had fun anyway

Maybe I just don't really get the loot driven genre. Borderlands was quite fun as a shooter, but I got tired of spending all my time looking for chests with slightly incremental upgrades on what I had
