ok, just to explain in more detail: the new york times and other newspapers are established outlets for serious news. No one is questioning their competency in bringing the best news to their customers. They can release fake news once a year without anyone using this one example to attack or question their competency.

Now look at vgchartz: it is constantly being questioned about its competency to deliver the right numbers by some sites/ people. Messing with the numbers, even on 1st of April, will be used by some doubters as an example for the "fake" numbers the site makes up.

Like I said, switching the main nuumbers is good fun and all. The resulting switch in detailed weekly numbers (I guess induced by the data structure ioi uses) can be intentionally misunderstood and abused by doubters.
