I'll never understand this thinking. Though the loss of a competitor would be catastrophic, especially one the likes of Nintendo, the industry would continue on without them. OT: Had the Wii failed, Nintendo would have tried something else fresh for this gen - as best they could. Whether or not it caught on - who knows? They probably won't ever bow out of this industry and, worst case scenario, would just stick to handheld(s) only (an area they always dominate). |
I was being sarcastic, dang should have added jk at the end... Anyways, Nintendo would have stopped making home consoles all together, as they said they would if another console underperformed like the GameCube . IF Wii was a flop, no more Nintendo home consoles. They would be all about handhelds. It might not be the end of an industry, but it would be a tremendous blow.
