Ok, well you are talking about some unmeasurable hype rating, and i am talking about actual preorder numbers and analysts predictions... So... Yeah...

plus, as i said in the op, obviously the ps4 will be the best selling, but the way they are structuring destiny, I am basically predicting really long legs for the game.  That is what my prediction is based on.

I don't see that happening, the reason many games fall off is because the's always an alternative while the type of games with no alternative are either niche or have strong staying power and Destiny being a FPS already has a disadvantage in that area. In order for Destiny to have long legs it would have to be able to stand up to the games released after it from the CODs, BF, Halo and so on, for all you know next year's batch of FPS may even be back to form or if the game is a hit will emulate it. I don't see it happening, after next year the game will just focus on the userbase and deliver the planned years of support to them like they did with Halo 2.

Halo 5 alone may kill off Destiny on the X1 next year I don't think you took into account all the factors.

Destiny is doing a lot to keep people interested and buying the game though.  It is supposed to have fairly regular expansions come out, and the characters you create are built to be fully transferable between games.  So if you dont buy destiny, but buy the sequel, you can then take that character you created in destiny 2, and use it in destiny to play all the original content you missed.  This strategy actually seems like it will help drive sells for the first destiny after sequels come out rather than diminishing them.

Maybe you should research destiny a bit more, there is a reason i am so bullish on its potential...
