Riiiiiight. Don't diversify, put all your eggs in one basket. That way if it fails you won't be around any longer to do it.
You can't always count on something being a hit, no matter what it is. COD as big as it is could fall off really bad because of IP fatigue, where will that leave Activision? Skylanders... But that's why they are still trying to create other IP's like Destiny (even though it's rather similar to COD in many ways). Or Ubisoft with AC Unity (ten studios working on that game) but also created WatchDogs and The Crew. I still think both of these companies could do more to diversify personally because their IP's are too similar. Activison could go under if people stop buying FPS games. Of course you also have to know the audience you are going after.
Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
