Globally the PS4's weekly software lead has been similar to its install base lead. It does have a slightly lower overall attach ratio, but that seems to have started normalizing recently. Last week for example the PS4 sold 305k pieces of software on a 8.6m install base, while the X1 sold 156k on a 4.9m install base. For the week before that it was 383k vs 202k. The software ratio is pretty much what you'd expect right now. It goes up and down in favor of each console (especially with major launches, extra so if exclusive), but that's also expected. |
Thanks for the clarifications, on these charts it's hard to tell. This fall games will put a little more life in consoles. I think console makers should find a way to spur interest in gaming during the summer.
