Timed exclusivity is not a win for Sony. When Sony's fleet of new IP's and known exclusives come around the expectations will go back to normal.

It's not just the timed exclusivity. Between the bundle, DLC, and exclusive marketing (not to mention, thicker US sales for PS4), it's a big win for Sony.

Sony works well coming off of their innate ability to internally  create or co develop new IP's. This is where most of their pride comes from. The last timed exclusive that truly ever helped Sony was the GTA trilogy during the PS2 era. Destiny is a nice game and will sell well but it will do so close enough between MS and Sony. The achieved sales would be a multiplat effort and deservedly so. I guess we have Microsoft to thank for Sony's complete and utter focus on making their own games since MS leveled the playing field with third party. Bundles...DLC...and deceptive marketing for  a game that isn't exclusive to me is underhanded...and Sony should leave that stuff to MS instead of trying to copy them. Doing that for their own exclusives is much better, which I appreciated more about the Halo and Gears bundles. Truely anticipated exclusives with bundles are the prize, not timed exclusives.
