They're just trying to emulate what Senran Kagura has brought to the industry. Truly, we need more females in brawlers.

Well things are looking up! The new Smash Bros. seems to have a lot of female characters, too.

Peach, Zelda, Samus, Zero Suit Samus, Lucina, Palutena, Rosalina, female options for Villager, Wii Fit Trainer and Robin...

And of course there's Bayonetta.
