Sales are not a point of view.

And consoles ARE their libraries. Unless hardware is ridiculously gimped like the Virtual boy.

So you think because Nintendo's first party games have sold more than Microsoft's first party before they should always sell more? It doesn't work like that, peoples tastes change, the latest Halo outsold the latest Mario. There is also a lot more to a console than just games. Controllers for one, some people prefer Xbox controllers to anything the Wii U has, some also prefer the Wii U controls but that again shows a console isn't just games. There is the online infrastructure and account systems, as well as things like achievements. Some people may not care for achievements but others do, those that do that played 360 are going to want to keep that going so that will be a factor for them as well. Then there are things like Kinect, some people hate it and wanted it gone, but for others it is a selling point.

Nintendos problem with competing the traditional console market is that their third party is lacking. MS knew what the answer was as to why Sony dominated everyone and cut Sony's marketshare down because of it. It had absoutely nothing to do with first party. Nintendo always alienates themselves from the game and it always comes down to MS and Sony because of it, but its not like MS is expanding the size of the market or anything. Thats mostly Sony and Nintendo.
