Cause people know that people follow the games not the developer. If this was a Halo game going multplatform then yes it will be more popular on the XB1. If it sold more on PS4 then it would mean a lot of xbox fans had jumped ship to PS. This however is a new IP, that has been heavily marketed on the PS4, the first demo was exclusive to PS4, the second is first on PS4, has PS4 exclusive content and even has a PS4 bundle with new white console. There is simply not a ahcnace it sells more on XB1. Hell, just look at watchdogs.
And I don't even think Destiny will boost sales of X1 hardware. It will just sell to the already existing XB1/360 install base. If anyone were going to buy a next gen console for Destiny, they would be doing it on the PS4 cause at least there is a bundle for it and so far all the marketing for the game only shows PS4. So I don't see why/how anyone would really be waiting for Destiny to buy an XB1.
