About X1 not doing good because it haven't outsold ps4 have you tough that up to 2014 ps3 was doing bad because it haven't outsold x360?
Ps3 was doing bad because of the sharp drop from ps2 but have been doing good since 2010/11.
Gamecube did good because the only metric that stand tall above others is profitability and marketshare is just a way to get there. If ps4 sells 150M profitting 20B, X1 sells 50M profitting 25B (but outsold 3:1 on HW) and WiiU sells 30M profitting 30B who really did well and won? For me as gamer Ps4 and the others sucked ballz and flopped. For shareholders they would preffer ninty.
Imagine that activision had spinoff the 2 studios that make CoD and even tough they just sold 20M yearly (or 150M on the gen... A small marketshare of like 5%) would that make they fail against EA? No, it probably would be the most sucessfull studio of gen 7. They would dance around Ninty with only 7 games against 30.
