Where on earth did you pull 50m from?  PS3 had ~ 24m sold in the USA by June last year.

My bad, wasn't thinking just US, but the comment still stands, the PS3 had a much greater install base in the US than all 3 current next gen platforms combined, so it's pretty obvious that they shouldn't outdo it.
