Personally, I'd go with the 32GB model.
Yes, internal memory isn't as important as you can connect an external HDD, but there are other reasons to get the bigger model like the extra stands to hold the console vertically, the charger/stand for the GamePad (otherwise you have to plug it directly), a sensor bar (who knows, you may find yourself wanting to try some Wii games and it may come in handy) or simply because most bundles are with the 32GB model.
