Rainbow Six Siege Gets New “E3 Awards” Trailer
Ubisoft has released a new trailer for the next installment in the Rainbow Six series, Rainbow Six Siege. This new trailer features scenes from the E3 demo that was shown earlier last month, so no; it does not feature anything new. Still, this trailer packs direct feed footage so some of you may be interested in it (though what’s the point of direct feed when YouTube destroys its quality with its video algorithms). Enjoy! Continue reading

Eve Online Crius expansion brings enough industrial change to yield "good-old fashioned space conflict"
CommentPew! Someone must have shot Eve Online’s next expansion with an Asteroids laser, because it’s split into ten smaller expando-rocks set to spin out across the next year. The first, Kronos, hurtled into one of the best PC space games last month. CCP’s radars indicate its follow-up is on a similar collision course. Named Crius, it’s due to make shockwaves in Eve’s industrial sector come July 22.
“As the fuel that powers the ‘infernal machine’ of harvesting, creation and destruction, the industry changes will catalyze player-driven action, create new opportunities for veterans and new players alike,” write CCP. “And most likely start some good old-fashioned space conflict.”
Boom: Star Citizen goes bombing in celebration of $48 million milestone
Comments7Chris Roberts’ Cloud Imperium Games last month asked the Star Citizen community whether they still wanted stretch goals to fuel the game’s ongoing crowdfunding campaign. They voted yes, and so the neverending telethon continues.
The increasingly absurd total has now topped $48 million, and funded a sleek new video advertisement for one of the game's bombers. As well as the PC space game and international games studio, obvs.
The Long Dark will Hinterland on Steam Early Access this September
CommentIt’s tricky to imagine freezing your bollocks off right now, at the end of Planet Earth’s hottest three months on record. But raise your hand in front of your face, and think about the snowy squalls that’ll prevent you from seeing it. Which’ll be just as well, because your fingers will have come off, leaving frostbitten stumps behind.
That’s your future in The Long Dark, the first-person survival sim from Far Cry 3 narrative director Raphael van Lierop. It’ll be released in Early Access sandbox mode once Autumn comes.
League of Legends unleashes the Doom Bots of Doom
CommentAre you the bravest summoner on the rift? You’ll need to be exactly that if you plan on taking part in Riot’s latest League of Legends experimental Featured Game Mode. The Doom Bots of Doom turns the game’s already tricksy AI champions into fiendish, apocalyptically difficult foes.
And they’re stomping their way into battle from July 17th. Gulp.
Criminal ex-dictator Manuel Noriega is suing Activision for portraying him as a bad man in Call of Duty
Comments1If you played Call of Duty Black Ops II, you may recall this chap you can see above. His name is Manuel Noriega, and - unlike so many aspects of Call of Duty - he’s actually a real person. Quite a nasty one too; he’s currently sitting in a prison cell in Panama for crimes he committed during his reign as the country’s dictator. Murder ranks among his more awful crimes.
He’s in the news today though not for committing any further atrocities from his jail cell, but because he’s attempting to sue Activision for portraying him in a negative light in Call of Duty.
Kerbal Space Program adds Contracts as part of First Contact patch
CommentFloating through the abyss of space is Kerbal Space Program: First Contact, or code-name patch 0.24. It’s currently being frantically tweaked and bashed into position so it’s ready for atmosphere entry, where it will plummet down the cable lines of any existing owners and upgrade their Steam accounts with this shiny new version.
The big deal here is Contracts: a brand new way of playing Kerbal that asks you complete specific tasks in reward for financial and reputation gain.
Alien Isolation will be accommodating to pacifists: you don’t need to kill a thing
CommentEveryone got a little touchy when it was revealed that there would be guns in Alien Isolation. This is, afterall, based on Ridley Scott’s horror masterpiece and not James Cameron’s more explosive action flick, and so caution should be at the heart of the action. Thankfully our Steve reported that the guns don’t spoil the game at all, but if you’re still worried listen up: you can get through Isolation without harming a soul, synthetic or otherwise.
