I don't think the launch date is a major contributor to the mediocre sales of the WIi U. Alot of things such as lack of marketing, weaker hardware, lack of multiplats and strong 3rd support are the things that are just not helping. Though I will say that since Nintendo released the system a year before the competition, they really should havve had games like Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 ready, months before the competition to help push units. Nintendo didn't do much with their system with the 1 year head start they had.
