Mario Kart 8 doubled the WiiU's baseline from 30k to 60k and that's what matters the most!

Yeah? Well whent he lead is at 96-100k that 60k can't possibly be "what matters the most".

The WiiU always had low chances of winning the generation, so the system being profitable is what really matters here!

They are still losing money selling the Wii u - I seriously doubt they will make a profit this year either - at least an operating profit
|
Fact: According to their FY2013 year end financial briefing, they now make a profit.

It's not a fact, it's accounting sleight of hand. The wii u sold so poorly last fiscal year that they are left with a large overstock, so by applying the loss on those consoles to last year the money they can make on the overstocked wii us are put to covering the loss of any new models made this year. Nintendo never said that they are now making a profit per console sold, they wouldn't have had to use such fancy language to dance around that issue otherwise.

Thank goodness someone else read the Iwata Q and A. I have been saying the same thing referring to Dirext quotes from Iwata and people still disagree because they heard/read otherwise on the net - They wrote down the losses of the previous years leftover inventory - Iwata also flatly stated that it cost more to make the Wii u thanwhat it can be sold for
