Sorry, but you guys are really taking for granted that nintendo will got a lot of things rigth for amiibo, like advertsing, price and usuability.
Think about the use of amiibo in smash bros: you will come over at a friend's house and say: hey, "let the amiibos batle" instead of playing the game yourself? Its a AI controlled character, and how many times was fun too see one of those battling?
What im trying to say is that people will buy amiibo and thats all, they will not think: wow, i'm really missing some cool features that totally justify a US$300 purchase.
