In most cases I waited for a GOTY edition (or other "complete" editions with all DLCs included) or I bought the DLCs or season passes, when they were a bargain (steam sales). But a few DLCs I bought for full price, when the content was worth it.
Early access? Well, I kickstarted a lot of games (mainly point&click adventures, my favorite genre)... so I won't deny "buying the cat in a bag" sometimes. Some of the kickstarter projects give me early access, but I don't play these buggy alpha or beta versions.
I also buy and play a lot of mobile games and eat little children. ;)
I tried some free-to-play games but never left a dime for virtual in-game-items. The moment I can't continue without paying real money for "normal" progress I'm out and the game gets deleted. In-game purchases with onetime costs to change a demo-version into the full version of the game are okay.
