Because they are so widely known, IF Microsoft had proof that they were incorrect, they would have done their normal PR statement regarding the NPD results. You can even translate what they have to say : "Xbox One is the #1 Selling Console" > self explanatory "Xbox family sold the most consoles this month" > means that PS4 beat XB1, but XB1+360 sold more than PS4+PS3 "Xbox sold the most software this month" means that XB consoles didn't do well enough to talk about, but they focus on what's postive "no statement" > means that it was a disaster LOGIC sir. If they have good news, lord knows MS is not shy about shouting it from the rooftops month after month. They admirably kept going even when the XB1 was losing, though they got awfully creative with their wording. Now that the defeats are getting more and more consistent and dire, they've begun to clam up. Their silence speaks volumes. If they had something good to say, THEY WOULD SAY IT. Even Pachter, who long held to the belief that XB1 was constantly around the corner from retaking the US, has basically admitted that XB1 is going to lose big even in price cut month. And I can't stress it enough, denying NPD results makes you look unhinged. They have been confirmed by ACTUAL REAL PEOPLE IN THE KNOW AND IF THE NUMBERS GIVEN WERE FALSE MICROSOFT WOULD HAPPILY CORRECT/DENY. |
Ok, Microsoft didn´t have good news last May... but why Sony only focused on PS4 leadership in the last 4 months?
When Sony sold double the units MS had they said so. They didn´t said so for April and May but NeoGaf assumes it was far more than double.
And for the last part, please, link me a source that states how accurate and reliable those sources are. Please, because when I go to their forum they are mostly doing arithmetics with past numbers.
As for Pachter, he is not paid to be right, and he doesn´t care how accurated his guesses are.
