Why does Tropical Freeze sell so bad?

This really doesn't excuse the lack of platformers in the future. We are promised one game, and that's a core Mario game that we know nothing about. 

Pretty much and famous are the three words you should focus on here. In commercial sense, what you don't know off doesn't exist.

I gave you mulitple genres. I gave you an action adventure game, a real-time straegy puzzle game,  a kart racer, a first person survival game, an action hunting game and a mob-fighter adventure game. 

A platformer title is something like core Mario and Donkey Kong Country, or Rayman legends and Origins. These are platformer titles all well established and extremely praise platformer titles. Platformer implies that the game has platforms that you jump to and from, to reach a goal point at the end of the level. 

What I don't know? A core Mario game has been confirmed as "in development" and is still very early in the planning stages. We don't know the style it's going to be.
