They had said "something new", previously. Has to either be a new IP or a reboot of something old. It's not TLOU. though i almost wish it was

It's TLOU. Sony isn't letting ND remaster the first game and they aren't shooting a movie about this just to then let the IP lie there and do nothing with it.

TLOU wouldn't qualify as "something new". And why would Sony not let that happen? TLOU can live on in a spin off fashion, like that TLOU Online trademark. Different developer, open world online focused game. No responsibility to live up to TLOU's memorable story and characters, all about the mp gameplay; the IP name to sell it to some, the concept to sell it to others. A real TLOU 2 can happen later. At the end of PS4's life, like TLOU 1, or in the following generation.

Are you talking about this?

They're calling Uncharted 4 a brand new experience as well.

Sony will not let it happen because it would be completely stupid to do so, it is clear as day that Sony is putting a lot of backbone into that IP, they will not use that for a spin off, they want TLOU to be huge for them this gen. I'm predicting this now, we're going to get at least up to TLOU 3 on PS4. Sony is a company that's not in the best financial situation so I highly doubt that they'll let a money maker like TLOU just sit there until the end of the gen and only release a spin off or something.

They need some stable money makers in their line up and while even the ND name is already a very good guarantee for great sales, it's still nothing compared to the ND name with an IP that has proven itself to be very successful. Artistic integrity is going to (unfortunately depending on who you ask) have to take the backseat here. Maybe we'll get a new ND IP at the end of the gen.
