Around the internet I slowly see extremely mixed opinions from nintendo fans who usually used to unite on opinions.

Some who complain about the lack of third party support on wii u, some who say third party don't really matter to nintendo.

Success for nintendo is whatever makes them the most money. But what about the nintendo fans/some of you guys?

Is success being once again no. 1 selling console of the current generation? Or maybe for some success is Nintendo rekindling their relationship with third party devs and securing more multiplats? Or do you regard success as nintendo's first party operations being strong enough so that they make as much money without even needing the third parties or strong hardware sales?

People are currently calling PS4 a success because it has sold the most consoles this gen in the fastest of time and had the biggest sell-through to consumers at launch (1million units in USA alone), but they haven't exactly had breakout success in the number of first party releases, or even sales for their first party games (Have been good, but nowhere near amazing). They do however have strong third party support to offset that, and they could earn money by lifting their feet up more so than nintendo*

*What I mean by that is that third parties have had alot of success on PS4, that essentially ps4 is making a lot of money from third party devs than nintendo is.

So what do they need to do for you to claim "This console is officially a success"?

Also, we're not shareholders, but we are stakeholders, so while shareholders would say "Make a billion dollars and you're a success" as gamers we're not usually interested in the financial hoohaa's, more so how the perception of the console is and how well it sells/how good are the games.
