Of course it effects you as well, but it's not like once they do come to the realization that they've made a mistake, that point is completely glossed over to replaced by sympathy.  In my experience, it's a mixture of relief, sympathy and in some cases a small amount of 'I told you so'.

And you're right, it is impossible...currently, to tell people that the company they love is abusing them.  But, we better damn well find a way to get through to them, or we'll simply remain unfocused and incapable of steering the industry in the direction we prefer.  Of course, that presupposes that everyone or the majority thinks like I do, which may or may not be the case.
