Problem is how many really amazing games are releasing in 2014? I have enough old games to keep me occupied while I wait for some of the 2015 heavy hitters, so I don't really get hyped for games I'll likley buy one day in 2014.

For me several amazing games coming in 2014, but obviously the listing is subjective and no one is wrong to pick their games.  For me it has become harder over time to get that excited about games far off any more.  I am curious about the next Zelda, but until I see a bunch of gameplay and can see it being out within six months or so hard for me to work up much enthusiasm.  I remember agonizing over waiting for Ocarina of Time for a long time and it was not a pleasant experienc e personally even if the pay off was massive.

Why agonize? I tend to not pay attention to games coming out (except release dates) so that I don't see too much. Companies can release trailers which don't spoil the game, but just seeing a specfic area (saw a volcano area), or shot tidbits of a boss, you know a bit about what's coming.

Zelda I agree with, Nintendo only really showed a clip saying "we're making it like this", but nothing to get excited about. However you can base expectations for Zelda, Uncharted, Halo, etc, based off experiences with past entries.

The way I see 2014 is "mostly sequels to meh games." I'm not hyped for another Assassin's Creed or another Call of Duty. I haven't even been able to keep up with the franchises.

Out of curiousity, how many games are you still planning on buying in 2014? I only have 3 for sure (Smash Bros, Phoenix Wright Vs. and Pokemon) and the other games I have pre-ordered are 2015.
