It's not weird rationalizing or anything. Their games would sell significantly worse. The reason people on those platforms don't play Nintendo games is because there is NO Nintendo games on those platforms. Nintendo games have a unique charm that would be lost if the IPs were multiplatform. It's not that hard to understand. Look in the eyes of a developer. Most of the Rare staff that made the good Nintendo games left after MS bought them, look at Conker and Banjo. They had life on Nintendo platforms. Now they are husk being paraded around like trophies.
