NIntendo miserably failed with the name. I dont know why they thought calling the system WiiU was smart. I mean DS has no "Gameboy" in its title and is the most successful Nintendo handheld ever even tho it was the first handheld to have serious competition (PSP).

The name is just very bad.

New Super Mario Bros worked. So why not  NEW (SUPER) NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM?

Too long, and new super mario bros was a shitty game.. the only one who don't understand that the wii u is a new console are casual gamers. And they were many on the wii ( just dance, wii sport, and shit ). I think it is better for nintendo to keep " real " gamers like during the gamecube/n64 and snes period.. but that may mean they will sell less consoles.


How is New NIntendo Entertainment System to long? Its not even as long as Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Also not only casuals but also alot if not all mainstreamers (Today 90% of gamers are mainstreamers) dont understand the name. People that just play games when they get alot of media attention. Fifa COD or stuff like Batman (Batman because it surfed on the Batman movie hype wave)  I know several PS360 gamers that needed an explanation.

NSMB being shit is quite irrelevant here but I agree it is shit (sadly) 

Abou the selling less consoles thing...
TBH I actually prefer having less casuals/mainstreamers. The less of them you have the better the games get/the better the community is. No more dumbed down/streamlined crap anymore. Give me excellent (also niche) games only people with good taste play.
