Cross play for me with games tied to your account and not the system. I really don't care about playing Snes or Nes games on the 3DS because I find it very uncomfortable, but I want to be able to play them in the next Nintendo home consoles using just my account, not that transfer crap thing.
Subscription is an interesting idea, but it doesn't work for me for two reasons:
1. Not enough time to play nowadays, I may be paying without playing anything in the month, just as it happens with me and Netflix. However, movies last 2 hours so I still find some time to watch one. Games on the other hand can last for several hours.
2. Already bought on the Wii 80% of the VC games currently available that I'm interested.
