How about this.

PS3  - 200$ for an old system for one game vs PS4 -400$ for a new system for several games.  

Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, BattleField, those games are the big pushers.  Sure, you can play them on an older system, but people understand at least, that the new versions are better and more prestige comes with a new system.  

Yes and none of those reasons have anything to do with the TLOUR...
