Not at all. I'm saying you can make an argument for almost anything and it'll make sense if you look at it in certain ways. Try taking a look at the pros for making a remaster and weigh it against the cons. And look at each pro and con and really consider how much those cons and pros make sense. They might look like they make sense, but then under closer observation you realize they don't. The market can not get flooded with remasters. No one is going to want to rebuy their entire collection. A few titles that they missed is definitely a selling point and is definitely something that works. On top of that, how many companies are going to be wanting to remake content? I could argue that remasters actually make new games more viable and more possible. Because look at the pros for TLoU remaster. -Easy experience with PS4 hard ware that would be useful for a new game. (Uncharted 4) -Inexpensive -Brings in money for ND. -> this means that there is more money that they can put towards new games. -It sells to more people, so this means that there is more people aware of the brand, so making TLoU 2 is more viable. It also makes Naughty Dog games as a whole more viable. It gives ND more fans and they can make new IPs that will sell better than before. |
Sure you can make and argument for everything, but with new games, the positive outweights the negative.
