It is a step in the right direction. Although it might not really help WiiU at this point, I'd rather see Nintendo getting good press about the console than selling buckloads of another console everyone hates about.
But for now, WiiU is developing its own identity and that's very good. It ain't seen anymore as a slight upgrade over last generation.
