Nintendo makes a big stride in embracing the competitive Smash scene.
For those people that are unfamiliar with the fighting game scene, EVO (Evolution Championship Series) is one of the biggest fighting tournaments in the world. Players from all over flock to EVO to compete and win big cash prizes in a variety of games. Super Smash Bros. Melee has been a staple at the event, but Nintendo never really acknowledged the competitive scene. E3 seemed to changed that perspective, as theSmash Bros Tournament there was a huge success and really showcased the competition had in the Smash community.
Now it has been discovered that Nintendo is listed as a sponsor for this years EVO 2014, which takes place July 11th-13th at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino.
