Also, while the Virtual Boy was a failure atleast Nintendo released its successor quickly after that. Same for MS with Xbox 360 and Window 7 if you want to talk about OS.

Since the PSP had 4 iterations the Vita has 3 right now altho the VitaTV hasn't come to the west just yet.

In terms of an actual successor to the Vita it would have to be taken from the market before they'd be considering it I would hope considering the issues the Vita had at launch while the PSP remained strong competition for it in Japan, they won't want their own products clashing again, that cost them far too much.

In terms of naming tho, when it comes to unsuccessfully named systems their names normally die with them, from my understanding win7 is very close to Windows Vista under the hood but the name change was to distance it from the failure and disdain people had for Vista. So yeah I think the Vita name will die with that system when it is discontinued by Sony.

 

 

Sorry bout the tone of my first reply btw, re-readin it there tis a bit more rude that I intended, just a bit of a Vita fanboy regardless of how terribly it does, I genuinely don't understand how it can do so poorly when you consider how great the libraries it has access to (vita/psp/psone) all in one system.
