But even if they run out of popular historic periods they will just go back to a previous setting.


That would just mess with the story (and the story is complicated enough already ). The games show what exactly happen in the period. If they go back to Renaissance Italy it would be just a remake, and the story wouldn't advance.

Although an AC game based on World War One or based on the Cold War (a spy-centric AC) would be welcomed.
