No, you can play on someone else's (supported) TV. Or you can travel with the PS TV (cheaper than Vita) and play it on a big TV (instead of Vita's small screen)

Or you can sell your PS3 and play on PS4

Not to mention the possibility of tablets


I would have a hard time finding a friend with a Bravia TV that also has to be supported. And have to take my gamepad with me. Or take my PS TV with me. And of course I should have big hopes that my friend has some good internet access and that his sister/mother/father doesn't heavily use the access while I try to play. Tablets = phones -> It most probably has to be from Sony.
