Well Titanfall is backed by EA and Dead Rising is backed by Capcom so there the ones who fund the game not Microsoft, Microsoft just pays for exclusivity which is a lot less than development cost.

Sunset Overdrive though poor Insomniac.

Why poor Insomniac? Insomniac owns the rights to Sunset Overdrive and without MS they wouldn't been given a chance to create SO. Insomniac has repeatidly said how MS is much better than EA.

Well, let's see what happens if Insomniac wants to do a sequel to SO and asks MS for funding again...
