Ofcourse the video is fake lol, but it is considered one of gaming's biggest hoaxes at the time because people thought this was what Nintendo had in mind when they released the code-name "revolution".
Anyways, in my opinion it would be friken awsome. You guys say "you would run into a wall" but you missed the part of the video in which the "brain" or the console itself detects walls on your surroundings to create a map that works around your environment.
