This total investment talk is irrelevant. We aren't talking about the long term cost benefits...

And no one goes into "BUYING A NEW PLATFORM" saying...hey I would spend $200 less over a year if i go with the PC. thats just forum talk. In the real world, what determine what the average joe does is how much disposable cash is at hand.

Only considering the initial costs instead of the total costs and ignoring the follow-up costs or (even worse) monthly downpayments is one of the big reasons, more and more people have such tight budgets... and that includes expensive phone contracts with high-end smartphones "for only $99", car-leasing, gas-guzzling SUVs with much horsepower, big TVs and other luxury items  "on credit", alluring credit cards and so on.

But ignorance is bliss, it will all work out. Yeah, right!
