A game shouldn't be advertised/promoted on the basis it's got a gay character in it. This undermines the idea of equality. If you are making exceptional circumstance that the character is there, instead of just them being there, this is them saying "look, we aren't normal."
What complaints were there last time? Isn't the game about magic and evil darkspawn? A selling point shouldn't be that you can bed anyone, it should be that it's a great game. Who buys an entire game on the fact you can have a gay relationship in it? |
There were many outrageous complaints after the 2nd game.

Have you never heard of Sims? The whole reason relationship building is put into action/RPG games is to appeal to a broader audience and enrich the overall game. If people can buy into a game simply because it is prettier than the rest why can they not buy into it so they can roleplay their fantasies? It is a Role Playing Game at its core. Combat is less than half of what this type of game is.
