Well I suppose I could then go on to ask what is so evil about having such a connection with someone of the same gender even if it's eternal but I guess it's a belief thing 

You seem though to be moving away from it being sin because of it being an abomination to God's creation though and more towards it being sub because of a same sex connection

Yes, it is an interesting subject. When I think on abominations I think about going away from creation, food abuse is about self control, I mean, indulging on a blessing of the Lord. I guess homossexuality is more about transgression than indulgence in that sense: it is not about doing too much or in the wrong way, but doing in a form that was not mean to be I guess.

But, consider this: it is worst, no to God, but to the sinner because it is so easy to say: "I did this, so I am gay now. There is no turning back" 

It really makes a mark on the person, I mean, for herself. But I also think that mixing species is a similar sin: you take a pig and cross it with a spider, it is an abomination of the creation. So, I don´t think it is the worst sin by any means, I just think it harms the sinner a lot, because it is something that is very hard to turn away from.

From what I know about God, He would never forbid something that is good to us, if He forbids, then the thing is harmful, He rules out of love, not out of pride. The things that makes us a easier target to evil are the worst sins. The reason is that God is almight, but He is ALL truth, so he puts His word in a higher place than His own name :

I will give worship before your holy Temple, praising your name for your mercy and for your unchanging faith: for you have made your word greater than all your name.
Psalms 138:2

That is why He teaches in such a way. Althought He loves us, He must punish the transgression and allow the devils to harm the people that gave evil place and a door to their lifes, because He cannot lie.

That is the evil´s most powerful weapon: the lies, the evil is all lies and Gos is all truth, that is why to evil it is the same thing and the same victory when a person is a atheist, a UFO fanatic or a satanist, there are thousands of ways to lie, but only one way to say the truth.
