Considering how people keep saying "Nintendo games sell Nintendo consoles" and "Nintendo doesn't need 3rd party games", it seems Nintendo would be best suited to just become 3rd party.
Not worrying about their own hardware and trying to suit their games to what the industry wants. That would be good. Just making the best game you could possible make. Suiting the industry should be easy since they are the best of the best, right? People want COD? Nintendo can top that.
People want Skyrim? Nintendo can top that.
Just go 3rd party. They are THAT good.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
