XBox 360 had its chance to bury the PS3 but it let it off the hook by failing to cut the price of console immediately after the PS3 cut the console price. Just before Xmas the biggest sale period of the year.

MS preferred to earn some money... they should have invested a bit more before Xmas to be massively rewarded later during Xmas 08.

I agree with this.

Imo, MS would've placed a STRONG second this gen if they had dropped the price by $50 the week the ps3/Wii launched, another $50 last holiday season, and yet another $50 right about now prior to the launch of GTAIV.  Hell, they may have even had a shot at first, because the Core would be $150 right now.

After that, they probably could've sat on their asses for a year or two.  But no, they decided to sit on their asses from the getgo. The only decent price cut they had was last holiday season, and it wasn't even an even $50 cut across all SKUs. :|
