How about the stereotype that woman are peaceful and spiritual and men are the source of violence www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLiS1n2GqU4
Don't get brainwashed so easily. Women are physicaly weaker than men - that's a fact. Men also display a better tactical war sense. With regards to BS like this, http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-06-18-editors-blog-i-am-sexist 95% (conservatively) of serious gamers are guys. Excluding artists, 95% (conservatively) of game devs are guys. Yet there is a shitstorm over Assasin's Creed not having a female character for multiplayer. There is way too much insanity out there already, don't let it get to you too. |
Never have been a feminist nor do I like Feminazi's at all. I also don't see the point in forcing Ubi to include female protagonists. But as for your point about 95% of gamers or serious gamers being male, I don't know whether that is accurate, but what I do remember is a study made by Ninty showing that 50% of their audience is female.
I also don't care for stories empowering women. The artists can do whatever they want and i cannot relate that much to female protagonists anyway. My point is that I, personally, don't like the same plot especially when a woman has to be rescued again and again. Women are weaker and that's a fact, but to be kidnapped again and again shows a bit of stupidity. I'd rather see the bad guy kidnap one of the younger looking characters or get a spell to destroy a city. Anything but the same old story.
In Rayman though you do save women trapped in cages, that's not the main story, only a part of it. The story is so forgettable that it seems like it doesn't have a story, which is fine (for me) for a platformer.
