After reading the Op again, a number of points do not actually play out as they are described during the events where Vince and West was fired from Activision. To much is pure opinion that does not match up with the information we do know how things went down.

First: Vince and West were not looking to sell a game to EA, they were looking to leave Activision. They were looking to have EA help fund a new studio for them once their contract was up. One of the big reason it was rumored they went this route was the money not paid by Activision for Modern Warfare royalties which amounted to a huge sum of money (its always a money issue right). Vince and West did not just go to EA, it was rumored they actually met with a few other publishers looking for a deal.

Even though Modern Warfare Advance Warfare seems to have some connection to Titanfall because it has players with exosuits climbing walls but after that, there is nothing that really is the same between both games. Both games go totally different directions and the only thing you can really draw from the 2 games that are similar is that both are in the future.

The next thing to remember is that Activision had plenty of chances to sue Respawn and they would have had plenty of changes to stop Titanfall from ever coming out to market. There is a small chance that they could wait to file suit after the game has made money but I am doubting this will happen.

There is no way that Titanfall is stolen property from Activision because it would be very stupid of Vince and West to have develop a game at one studio and also under contract then take that same ideal and create the same game at another studio.

If anything, for Vince and West to sue Activision for rights to the Modern Warfare name as they did means the contract between Activision and Vince/West was complicated. Its probably no magic that both COD and Respawn were looking for something different and using the modern setting lets them have more freedom with the tech they provide within the game. Yes there was probably going to have certain things that are similar because so far most modern type future games have had mechs, and exosuits that allow you to perform some type of super action.
