The more I read from posters, the more I realise most people still don't quite understand what PSNow is. The FTP model would work in exactly the same way it works on the consoles/PCs now. |
Well.. Heres a question... Don't you think that there is some sort of fee involved to keep the servers running that stream the games? Cause thats why as of right now, they are doing a rental service per game cause someone has to pay for the servers and the issue with FTP games is that, well, they are free loll. And since there is no entry level fee, if people don't buy enough of the ingame micro-transactions to level the server fee, then all the developers of the FTP games are doing is just paying Sony a fee to stream the game... Just cause there is a potencial market doesn't really mean the market is there
The other issue is that games like Planetside 2 is an online game so I am sure that there will be some delay when streaming vs playing off of the console/pc which will give the players a disadvantage unless they are playing on a server only ment for PSnow and no other users
Heck, most of the sites say that its virtually unplayable on wifi as of right now so even if they get that worked out, playing on online games on laptops and mobile devices via streaming would probably have a considerable amount of lag
