Has the Wii U become more of a Collector item than a system that people buy to play regularly?

I play my Wii U on a daily basis, it has more than enough content for it to be my only console this gen. Be it Nintendos 1st party brilliance, 2nd party/collaboration exclusives, the odd decent 3rd party game, indie games, virtual console classics ( now including DS and GBA and soon to be N64). If we get Gamecube games on the VC, it will be a very long time before i purchase another console.
