On a social aspect its interesting how the perception is concerning the Destiny DLC. I believe why many Xbox gamers are upset is not that the DLC is exclusive to Sony platform is that Bungie did not try to strike a deal to develop exclusive content for the Xbox edition. I highly doubt that MS would not have green lit a deal like that so either Bungie did not care to take that up with MS or the contract they signed with Sony was to exclude MS platform.
The fact that the content is locked away for a year also probably ruffling a few Xbox gamers as a year is a long time for content. The last part is that PS gamers are getting the content for free i believe which makes it appear to the Xbox gamer that they content is already there but they are being excluded from it. Having to pay for the content a year later probably not going to make your fans feel better about such decisions.
As a developer, Bungie needs to get that cash money for such a project but they do have to try to maintain some semblance of equality. It does nothing for Bungie for the PC and Xbox fanbase to feel like the stepchild for their game and locking content away for a year without offering something for the other fanbase leaves a bad taste in those fans mouth.
Was it every mentioned that thiss content was paid for by Sony. From my understanding it was never communicated which could cause the confusion. Case in point would be the Grand Theft Auto DLC MS paid Rockstar to make. People at least knew that those DLC packs were paid for unlike the Bungie DLC.
