The real downside is that the console isn't selling. It would sell drastically more if there was any real 3rd party support. Sure we get more Nintendo 1st/2nd party games which is great and all but there is less money in the Nintendo ecosystem as a whole, which further pushes away 3rd parties.
I think Nintendos days as a home console maker with 3rd party support are long gone and this will ultimately be the demise of Nintendo as a hardware maker. The Wii sold a million and 3rd parties didnt try with that console and they have made their choice to edge Nintendo out of the hardware industry.
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
