If you had a 720p TV, jaggies would be less apparent because the TV woudn't need to upscale the image. Upscaling always brings quality issues, except when you are doing for a resolution that is multiple by the same number in vertical and horizontal pixel count and is integer (like 1080p to 4K where you have 2X the width and 2X the height. 720p is 1.5X, so it needs scaling).
Anyway, a 1080p TV is newer, so it will likely have better contrast, colors and so on. But if you tried it on a 720p TV that was exactly as good as yours in all aspects, the game would have less jaggies. But you probably won't find a 720p TV with this kind of specs, so it's better to get better colors, contrast, brightness and so on in a modern 1080p set even with some jaggies.
