It's a painful lesson, but the lesson is good and benefits the gamers.
Don't slack off, don't do stupid shit, and listen to what your gamers want. E3 is a sign that Nintendo knows what to do and they can't slack off while their miracle machine prints money for them.
In the long run, Nintendo may come out better because of this lesson in humility.
